What Makes Me A Creator

influences & inspirations come from........

Family

My parents were young when they started a family. Their drive and perseverance that made them the extremely successful people they are today has influenced me to continue to push myself to be just as successful.

Art

Henri Matisse has been a huge inspiration with me because of his Fauvism style. Michelangelo’s painting of the Creation of Adam has been influential to me because the painting itself represents the pursuit of knowledge and to continue to search for higher power in yourself and others.

Surroundings/Home

Being born and raised in the Bay Area I was surrounded by innovation, culture, and especially the arts. The Bay Area has taught me to be unapologetically about who I am and has taught me how to find inspiration from anywhere. I can find inspiration from something as simple as a leaf from the shape all the way down to the veins.

Innovators & Boundary Pushers

Designers such as Yoon Ambush, Kim Jones, Mason Margiela, Raf Simmons, and Zac Posen has made a huge imprint on fashion history. Looking up to them has forced me to look at everything for more than it is and to push and test different mediums, techniques, and styles to create never before pieces.

Sustainability

The Adidas Ocean Shoe was in my opinion one of the biggest steps for fashion sustainability. Since fashion has a huge impact on global warming, seeing advances into both eco friendly practices and also bringing the community together to influence being more active has influenced me in constantly thinking how to be more creative to be both sustainable and philanthropic.

Beauty and Confidence

Clothing is a big contribution to confidence and I strive to create to see the consumer walk with more self confidence.

Inclusiveness & Social and Global Awareness

The topics I stand for the most is inclusivity and social/global issues. When creating I try to implement at least one if not all. The Nike Hijab was the first and biggest move to show inclusivity in athletics.

Music & Film

I am big into cinematography and even bigger into music. I look to films to understand different ways of interpreting concepts and I look to music to understand a vibe and to use my synesthesia to form color concepts.

Attention To Detail

When creating, I like to add subtle elements aesthetic purposes. I also am really technical in regards to how the garment fits and if it lays correctly on the body in terms of seams and grain. The Nike hole lazer etching was attention to detail on what the consumer wants and needs.
